I am unable to open orkut and other sites because it is banned in my college/school?
I get several question this and so i regularly updated the Proxy List for bypassing firewalls.First of google (google search “catched” option ) is proved to be good Proxy but its very light Proxy server.The best ever proxy is ultra surf ( Even i tried so hard to banned it through my squid proxy server but cant get success because its uses the default ip of 127.0.0.1 though i also tried to block the port no 9666 which used by this).
Recently i get few more lists and Proxy Sites useful in jumping network and found them effective i would share theme here.
Note1: You know besides the powerful Internet anti-blocking technology and several security solutions , UltraSurf serves as the news portal that directs millions of Internet users from inside the censor countries such as China to access the blocked web sites. For example since few months back Blogger.com and other social networking sites are blocked in china.
Its true that “Need is the creator of Inventions“

thnx for the ultra surf tip..may have to try it out..
but yeah, just wanted to clarify one thing..google “cache” is not a “proxy” as such. It serves a cached/stored “snapshot” of the site.

@Shantanu
Proxy means use of server other that that belongs to site url.
ie if you visit honeytechblog.com directly your browser call’s different ip but if you surf it from google cached sites it will call the google ip in this way you are proxing the honeytechblog.com.
Another example is that in some college blogspot in banned but you can access it through google cached pages.
Note:- Google is not very strong proxy server as it will redirect you to the main site whenever you click any links on the cached site.
Hope i am able to express some thing to you
