Boost Up Your Speed With Pen Drive

In my opinion Windows Vista is boring unless and until you have atleast 1gb of Ram.So here i am going to describe that how to boost up your vista speed with some trick and a pen drive.Page file is the Virtual memory option that is stored in the hard disk drive.Basically their is a feature of windows Page File which indirectly handle the computer speed and CPU process. The page file is used by the Windows OS to cater the needs of various applications when the physical memory is 100% used.It is because that Virtual memory is slower as compared to the physical memory and thus Physical memory takes the first priority.
Now in Windows Vista, Microsoft has introduced a new technology called Ready Boost.
ReadyBoost is a disk caching technology first included with Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system. It aims to make computers running Windows Vista more responsive by using flash memory on a USB 2.0 drive, SD card, CompactFlash, or other form of flash memory, in order to boost system performance.
Using ReadyBoost-capable flash memory (NAND memory devices) for caching allows Windows Vista to service random disk reads with performance that is typically 80-100 times faster than random reads from traditional hard drives. This caching is applied to all disk content, not just the page file or system DLLs. Flash devices are typically slower than the hard drive for sequential I/O, so to maximize performance, ReadyBoost includes logic to recognize large, sequential read requests and then allows these requests to be serviced by the hard drive.
How to Activate ReadyBosst In pendrive
1. Open My Computer.
2. Right Click on the Removable Disk Drive and select Properties.
3. Click on ReadyBoost Tab option.
4. Now Enable the feature by selecting the option and allocate the amount of space you want to use as memory.
Note that
1.Minimum Ram Of 512Mb 1Gb works Best.
2.Minimum Data Transfer Rate
If your device is not showing the option of ReadyBoost then it means that it doesn’t meets the minimum data transfer rate required by ReadBoost technology.

Hi,
I really like the concept of using pendrive as Random Access Memory. But i want to know that is this works during booting or does it works only after the system has booted up.
