J. Paul Getty museum’s art is now available on the Google Goggles. It allows you to access information on the painting and get the complete details of the painting, the stories associated with the different paintings. Additionally, you can also read information or hear commentary from different art experts like artists, curators, conservators and so on.
The J. Paul Getty Museum is in Los Angeles and has been working with the Google Goggles team to bring this together for users. According to the Goggle’s official blog –
you can use the Google Goggles app on your phone to take a photo of any of the paintings in the Getty’s permanent collection and instantly access information about the work from both the Getty’s mobile-optimized webpage about the painting and from around the web
To use the feature, all you need to do is take a snap of the artwork and get an interactive experience of the art work and details about it. However, as is mandatory at museums, you must not use the flash while taking the pictures of the artwork.
Additionally, using the Search History option on your Android phone, you can take pictures of the artwork and access information about it anywhere else, as and when you have the time to do it. What’s more, you don’t even need to take the picture of the original artwork, you can even take pictures of reproduction and get all the information.
