How To Backup Your Facebook Data Using Firefox?
Many users just rely upon Facebook to keep in touch with friends, family and work. Newer services like Twitter and FriendFeed are yet to reach many people. But of late we have seen many users complaining about their Facebook account getting deleted, so obviously all our valuable data are at risk. What if Facebook account gets deleted? And you wanted to have a backup of data elsewhere? With much advancement each day to Facebook it is still difficult to perform this task. But this problem gets solved for Firefox users.
A simple way to back up and achieve all your data is ArchiveFacebook. This is a free tool that allows you to save content from your Facebook account directly to your hard drive. If you are using any other browser then you will have to use extension by installing Firefox so as to backup data and it can be uninstalled later.

Currently ArchiveFacebook can save your:
- Photos
- Messages
- Activity Stream
- Friends List
- Notes
- Events
- Groups
- Info
All you need to do
- If you are Scrapbook Firefox Extension users then you would have to uninstall it as both cannot be run simultaneously
- Then get a Facebook vanity URL for your account as ArchiveFacebook does not work without it. Once you log in with username you are set for further.
- Now you can install Archive Facebook extension from your add-on gallery. Just visit the page and click on download.
- Once the installation is done you should see a new menu item “ArchiveFB” in Firefox between the Bookmarks and the Tools menu.
- Select ArchiveFB –> Archive from the main menu.
- Have patients. It will take several minutes to an hour to archive your account depending on the amount of content to be archived.
- When the archiving has completed, you will see a “Facebook” menu option added to the ArchiveFacebook menu. Select this option to view your archived account.
ArchiveFB will store your Facebook date copy within your browser Firefox; you can find ArchiveFB folder automatically generated in your browser profile folder where your data is stored. In case you use different browser then go to Tools > Options > Organize tab and specify the location where you needs the data to be stored. You might have also tried SocialSafe that offers the similar service at $2.99, however ArchiveFacebook is a better option because it is free of cost and can be used right from your browse.
Firefox has always impressed it’s user with add-ons and this is certainly a great addition, go give it a try now and back up all your imperative data!
