Lolz,Not in passports but yeah it can used in may identification, tagging and geo tracking.

We can use QR Codes on many places. Its most convenient for mobile users to scan the images and fetch the information’s. Facebook will use it as a geo location information that can be further used on 3rd party applications.

Just a quick tip -
Use a reliable URL shortening service to create the target URL. It produces less complex codes that can be used from further away or at smaller sizes.
