New Digg Buttons And Widgets Released For Publishers
Some time back Digg celebrated its 5th birthday and then on it decided to revamp the entire site with more interesting stuffs. Of late we saw a nice and useful change took place – it was that Digg Extended Login Options, Supporting OpenID and now the New Digg is moving ahead. Along with the new eniter website, Digg is now releasing new Digg buttons and widgets for webmasters. The tools are now accessible for all publishers and Digg says they should come in handy for those wanting to get ready for the upcoming launch.
Digg’s Matt Van Horn wrote -
We’re excited to announce that we have launched new and improved smart Digg buttons and a widget generator for publishers.
With the upcoming launch of the redesigned Digg, we want to give publishers the ability to more easily bring their content into the Digg ecosystem. These upgrades are a great way to get a head start on integration before the relaunch.
Now the Digg buttons will show thumbs-up icon rather than “Digg it” like before. Then it shows number of Diggs the story has got so far, one like “retweet” button. The embeddable Digg widget is also gets some nice revamp. A prominent change is that the story links lead to the publishers’ own web pages rather than to Digg. The stories would get the renowned Diggbar attached, though. The widget is also a lot more customizable, letting webmasters to get it just the way they like it without messing with the Digg API
