Facebook To Make $1 Billion In 2010

People have been looking for answers on when will Twitter start making money, but now the speculation is on Facebook. Last year there were several numbers estimations made and as the year passed the numbers augmented. The latest estimates coming from the Inside Facebook blog are higher yet again and put the social network’s revenue at above $600 million for 2009. And things are looking even better for 2010.

According to insidefacebook -

The company has been roughly doubling its revenues every year — 2007 came in at $150 million. We expect that trend to continue for the foreseeable future, making Facebook a multi-billion dollar company within the next few years. The question is becoming how Facebook can hit the inflection point where its revenues increase much more quickly.

Brand Advertising
Microsoft Advertising
Virtual Goods
Performance Advertising

Overall, we expect many of the same advertising trends to continue. Brand and self-serve advertising should increase — but so will virtual goods revenue. A wide variety of sources we spoke to expect Facebook to pass $1 billion in revenue this year, possibly reaching $1.1 billion.

With 400 million users and growing and a clearer focus on monetization, it might be that even this figure turns out to be conservative. Obviously, for Facebook this is great deal!
