PayPal PayPal’s Block Transaction To/From India Could Last Few Months

The service that claims – PayPal is the faster, safer way to send money, make an online payment, receive money or set and the world’s most-loved way to pay and get paid is now irritating Indians by blocking transaction to and from India. That’s not all, now PayPal says its suspension for certain transactions in India could last few months.

For the common question of when will personal payments be turned back on?

Anuj from the PayPal replied

The regulators recently let PayPal know about revised licensing rules that we are now actively engaged in securing. Personal payments to and from India will be suspended for at least a few months until we fully resolve the questions from the Indian regulators.

However, local bank withdrawals, which had also been suspended, should be available within a few days. The size of PayPal’s India business is not openly disclosed, but it looks to be relatively small. In 2008, $4 billion of PayPal’s $60 billion in transactions came from the region it defines as Asia, and the vast majority was from Australia, PayPal’s fourth-largest market. We hope that this issue gets resolve soon for the Indians to enjoy the service!
