Samsung – Top Seller Of Monitor In 2009
Monitor industry is pretty competitive and each maker is striving hard to come as close to the top supplier. But when it comes to LCD monitor there is no one could beat Samsung in past 3 years. Yes, Samsung managed to keep its position leading in PC monitor seller since last 3 years.
According to the report disclosed by Digitimes says -
Samsung Electronics has said it achieved its highest-ever market share for computer monitors last year, holding the number one position for the third consecutive year.
Citing IDC, Samsung said it posted a record-high market share of 17.9% in terms of sales revenue in the overall monitor market last year. It has held that top position for three consecutive years, or 12 consecutive quarters, since the first quarter of 2007. Samsung said it widened the market share gap with the second place monitor manufacturer over that period, from 1.5 percentage points in 2007 to 2.5 percentage points in 2008 and 5.1 percentage points in 2009.
During 2009, the PC and part supplier’s total monitor sales amounted to 160.2 million, out of which an inspiring 99% were liquid crystal displays. Compared to 2008, the figure was lower by about 6 million units, but this didn’t affect the company’s status as lead vendor.
