Many users get disappointed when their companies block social networking sites such as Twitter, because to keep away from this amazing micro-blogging site is quite unfair. To offer solution, TweetSwitch has recently come up with a brilliant idea of sending and receiving tweets via IM client. Any place where the access to Twitter is blocked, this service can help users to send/receive tweets via their IM chat window. TweetSwitch is a web service so you do not need to install any new applications.
For now the service is in testing, and available for five IM clients, AIM, ICQ, gTalk, Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger and soon will be extended to other services such as Skype also. To use this, just log in to Twitter account using TweetSwitch and it will redirect you to the interface where you can add your IM id and where you want the updates to be received. Tweet will be redirected to other listed IM if one happens to be offline. Instructions and short commands are offered for the user to start, pause and send / list, retweet, send Dms.
TweetSwitch currently checks and delivers your tweets every 2 minutes. TweetSwitch will soon check more frequently. If you want to stop receiving messages temporarily, just send a message to TweetSwitch bot with the word stop and you will stop receiving your messages until you resume the service and to resume the service type start. This is certainly will help users who want to enjoy Twitter unconditionally!
