Twitter Gets In To Wine-Making Business For Charity

1 Comment » Share

Fledgling WineThe micro-blogging site Twitter is trying its hands on major wine-making business aiming to raise money for literacy. They have launched its own wine label today entitled Fledgling Wine, collaborating with Crushpad DIY winery from its home town San Francisco. Based on the popularity of wine and all things Twitter, managers predict this would certainly be the largest online wine project to date.

Twitter cofounders Biz Stone and Evan Williams writes –

“As a company that’s only one percent into its journey, we’re always thinking about our long term impact on the world. The Fledgling Initiative embodies two things that are at the core of Twitter’s mission: providing access to information and highlighting the power of open communication to bring about positive change,”

Twitter would sell two kinds of wine, a Fledgling Pinot Noir and a Fledgling Chardonnay, both of which will start the manufacturing process later this year.
