Twitter lab 300x300 Twitter Lab Is Just Around The Corner

Labs are the trendiest thing to happen on web. We first had Gmail Labs and then followed Facebook Prototypes, which offered new features for the sites with a voluntary beta-test before official release. Just like that we will soon have Twitter Lab that would let developers to generate add-ons and features for the site that could further become extremely incorporated with Twitter itself, rather than only being transferred to external clients that use the API.

Twitter engineer Britt Selvitelle at the Future of Web Apps (FOWA) conference in London made an announcement that Twitter is planning something in between Firefox add-ons and Google’s Labs for introducing its experimental features. While this is undoubtedly good news for people looking to get something more out of Twitter, let’s wait and see whether Twitter Lab is a Productivity Booster or Unnecessary Clutter.

Had a really fantastic time speaking at FOWA London today! Did I mention Twitter Labs? Whoops :)Tweeted Britt Selvitelle after the conference
