Now Update Facebook Status From Yahoo Mail

The plan of incorporating social features into Yahoo products is moving fast. Earlier Yahoo Introduced Facebook Contact Importer and now it allows you to update Facebook status right from the Yahoo Mail. The new feature Yahoo says would be integrated to the existing Yahoo status update tool and would only be offered in “select markets.” Yahoo contacts in Mail would also have Facebook profile pictures if there are any.

If you use Facebook, Yahoo! Mail is getting better for you! As you may have heard, Yahoo! is putting a big focus on bringing you more social features, and this evening Yahoo! Mail is rolling out another handy way to connect with your friends. In select markets, we’re adding the ability to update your Facebook status right from Yahoo! Mail and see your friends’ Facebook profile photos when they email you,”

To turn on these features, first link your Yahoo! and Facebook accounts by clicking on the “Add to Facebook” link in the status section on the What’s New page in Yahoo! Mail,” he explained.

Yahoo is been trying hard to put in more social features to its services of late and this one is huge. First Yahoo joined hands with Twitter and declared that Twitter features would now be accessible via many of its online proprieties and tweets would start displaying the search results as well. For now, the services listed would be Yahoo and Facebook, and users can choose if they desire to update their status on either one or both.

Can’t find “Add to facebook” link in the status section Yahoomail’s what’s new page ..
There is no such link at all on my yahoomail homepage!
