Plugin Check 300x202 Update Your Firefox Plugins With “Plugin Check”We often find browser security issues when the plugins are not updated. So, Mozilla has launched a new service called “Plugin Check” to help Firefox users keep a select number of popular browser plugins up-to-date. Plugin Check takes the form of a Web page that shows information about a limited number of visitors’ plugins, particularly whether the plugins are up-to-date or whether a more current release is available. For now, this service can only track about 15 plugins, yet more would be added soon. You can check for updates by clicking on Tools, Updates, Add-ons, or rather wait for the browser to notify you automatically.

According to McBride – Mozilla developer “Firefox 3.6 will have this integrated to make sure users know when they have an outdated plug-in, without having to manually visit the Plugin Check page,” “Whenever you load a page that uses a plug-in that is out of date, you’ll get [a] warning.”

The warning will read: “Some plugins used by this page are out of date.” A button will be available to update the plug-in. It is recommended visiting Plugin Check once a month or so, just to make sure you’re not running any outdated Plugins.
