Google would have surely acquired YouTube in 2007 to make some handsome profit, but despite of taking several sophisticated measure the site could still not bring profits. But, then Google does not easily give up and we know that, so of late the giant said that YouTube would soon bring expected profits to the company. Now according to analysts – 2010 will be the year that site will start earning money to Google.

According to Barclays Analyst Douglas Anmuth -

Perhaps the main take-away for Google’s display business is that in 2010 we believe YouTube will start contributing positively to EPS. An improving advertising environment certainly helps, but with YouTube monetizing more than 1 billion video views every week, and with strong sell-out rates on its home-page from larger advertisers–we note 90% of the top 50 Ad Age have advertised on YouTube–we believe the site can profitably take share of the branded display & video market.

To our surprise analyst also predicts that the video site will see revenue jump 55 percent, to $700 million, in 2010, and that it will “start contributing positively” to the Google’s earnings. We know that YouTube is doing great and might soon be on track to bring profits to the Mountain View giant, but end of the day result is what matter so Google should start working on these promises.
