Samsung Shows Off A Smartphone With A Curved Display

Samsung has been showing us curved OLED’s and AMOLED’s for the past three years now. In the world of electronics and gadget technology, three years is equivalent to a decade of development in any other industry. Naturally, the biggies of the world had started asking the questions, are flexible displays all show and no go?

Samsung has finally silenced the critics by showing of its latest Galaxy device with a curved OLED display. The display of the device is curved vertically rather than horizontally, remember the Galaxy Nexus!

The specs of the device are very impressive indeed. It has a huge 5.7-inch OLED 1080p display and is powered by 2.3Ghz quad-core processor with 3GB RAM. Featuring a 13-megapixel camera the device is powered by a 2800mAh battery and all this comes neatly packed in a very slim body measuring at just 7.9mm thickness at the max.

The device known as the Galaxy Round has a very neat roll feature where you simply push down on either side of the device and it’ll quickly display the time, date and any important notifications.

The Galaxy Round is going to be released in South Korea first and no word on international release yet.

Do tell us if flexible and curved displays are the technology that is going to dominate smartphone displays in the future in the comment section below.
