If you are a web designer then testing a website in different monitor resolution is one of the most challenging task for you. You might use various devices to open and check the website inside them or you manually resize your browser size to test. This overall process definitely takes large amount of time.

You can solve this problem by using a web application known as ResizeMyBrowser. When you open the site, you’ll find 20 preset sizes written on the page. These sizes are screen resolution of mobile devices such as iPod, iPod touch, iPad, Nexus one, iPhone 4, netbooks, Macbook, laptops etc.

Just click on any of the given resolution and it will immediately resize your browser. It also displays the current screen resolution at the bottom. If you are not satisfied with the given resolutions then you can click on “create a new preset” button on the right. It allows you to enter custom height and width to create a new resolution.

This tool works with Firefox, Safari and IE. It doesn’t work well on Google Chrome because of “Resize to” bug. This tool is free to use and no registration is required.

Check out ResizeMyBrowser to quickly view the website in different screen resolution.

Today, Google is a huge company with several dozen outstanding products, yet it always strives hard for better future plans. Past year – 2009 has been exciting for the giant with couple of interesting release such as Google wave, preview of Google voice, introduced Chrome OS and Google Public DNS to name a few. So what does Google has in mind for 2010? Of course one interesting release waiting is the Google Phone – Nexus one, but then there is lot more to come from the entire team that can make our lives easy and exhilarating. Here is the Top 5 product that Google may plans to launch in 2010.

1. Google Phone – Nexus One -

By now you already know that Nexus One is the upcoming Google Phone and the great news is that it would be debuted anytime now in the Android Press Meeting. Nexus One is expected to display the latest generation of Linux-based open source Android operating system. In fact, this is also first phone that will be marketed directly by Google, in turn setting up extremely higher expectations for the product. Engadget has already reviewed the phone before the launch and it beings some interesting set of information you might link to know. The phone is also said to bring tough competition for Apple iPhone.

2. Google’s Caffeine Search Engine -

Caffeine is the next version of Google’s search-engine infrastructure and will soon be available to the wider audience. Caffeine engine is expected to offer technology to deliver faster and more accurate results. This version was available for test and there is no specific date for launch given yet, but Google is sure to develop it fully in early 2010. The reason for not releasing it in 2009 was thoroughly explained by Matt cuts. As soon as the search engine release the first threat will directly be on Microsoft’s Bing.

3. Google’s Ebook Store -

Google has always been fond of books and have encouraged it reader to take part often. With that love Google now plans to launch an online store for ebooks, which is expected to come in the first half of 2010. Google Ebook store will have half a million books initially in partner will few publishers. On the launch it is expected to have more than 500,000 books ready to be purchased from online stores such as Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. This interesting ebook store will be a strong completion to Amazon’s Kindle, which is today the most popular ereader.

4. Google Chrome OS -

Google Chrome Brower was a great hit and recently it also moved ahead of Apple Safari. And next in store we have Google Chrome OS – an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted only at netbooks. Google has planned to open-source its code, and will make Google Chrome OS available to users in the second half of 2010. According the giant, speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. This OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems.

5. Google Drive – GDrive

Users usually have complained of not having enough space for them to store emails, photos, and files. With that in mind, Google came up the idea of Gdrive included in Google pack – online file backup and storage service from Google that integrated with Google services like Gmail, Picasa Web Albums, Google Calendars, and many others. GDrive allows you to access your files from anywhere, anytime, and from any device – be it from your desktop, web browser or cellular phone. Google Drive is highly anticipated and expected to be released in 2010 but it will only be an extended version of Google Docs. Instead of sending attachments, you’ll be able to upload files to Google Drive from Gmail.

Many users just rely upon Facebook to keep in touch with friends, family and work. Newer services like Twitter and FriendFeed are yet to reach many people. But of late we have seen many users complaining about their Facebook account getting deleted, so obviously all our valuable data are at risk. What if Facebook account gets deleted? And you wanted to have a backup of data elsewhere? With much advancement each day to Facebook it is still difficult to perform this task. But this problem gets solved for Firefox users.

A simple way to back up and achieve all your data is ArchiveFacebook. This is a free tool that allows you to save content from your Facebook account directly to your hard drive. If you are using any other browser then you will have to use extension by installing Firefox so as to backup data and it can be uninstalled later.

Currently ArchiveFacebook can save your:

Photos

Messages

Activity Stream

Friends List

Notes

Events

Groups

Info

All you need to do

If you are Scrapbook Firefox Extension users then you would have to uninstall it as both cannot be run simultaneously

Then get a Facebook vanity URL for your account as ArchiveFacebook does not work without it. Once you log in with username you are set for further.

Now you can install Archive Facebook extension from your add-on gallery. Just visit the page and click on download.

Once the installation is done you should see a new menu item “ArchiveFB” in Firefox between the Bookmarks and the Tools menu.

Select ArchiveFB –> Archive from the main menu.

Have patients. It will take several minutes to an hour to archive your account depending on the amount of content to be archived.

When the archiving has completed, you will see a “Facebook” menu option added to the ArchiveFacebook menu. Select this option to view your archived account.

ArchiveFB will store your Facebook date copy within your browser Firefox; you can find ArchiveFB folder automatically generated in your browser profile folder where your data is stored. In case you use different browser then go to Tools > Options > Organize tab and specify the location where you needs the data to be stored. You might have also tried SocialSafe that offers the similar service at $2.99, however ArchiveFacebook is a better option because it is free of cost and can be used right from your browse.

Firefox has always impressed it’s user with add-ons and this is certainly a great addition, go give it a try now and back up all your imperative data!

Websites having huge amount of contents and tutorials are often used for the references and usually bookmarked. Do you think upon delivering a unique gumption of feelings to your users who used your contents for their source of information’s? The best way is to change the background and the color of the selected text on the website.

You can easily change the background and the text color of the selected text using CSS properties defined below

::-moz-selection{
    background:#cc3333;
    color:#fff;
}

::selection {
    background:#cc3333;
    color:#fff;
}

In case you want to implement this into your WordPress blogs then you just need to open the WordPress theme directory ( wp-content/themes/yourthemename/style.css) and the above CSS files into your style sheet.

Note:

I used the red shade (#cc3333) because its my default color scheme, you may used the colors matched with your webpage.

This method works like cream and is compatible with with Mozilla Firefox and Safari. This doesn’t work on Internet Explore.

We defined
::-moz-selection
for Mozilla Firefox whereas ::selection is used for default Safari browsers.

The people who are behind the firefox web browser they have been thinking for a long time — how the browser will handle tabs in future. The discussion mainly centralized in “when you’re opening a new tab, is it blank screen, or showing rss feed updates”. Also a list of frequently visited pages and one developers novel idea “if firefox didn’t have any tabs at all? What it will be?

Oliver Reichenstein says browser tabs worked well back when we’d only have a few web pages open at a time. Now that it’s not uncommon for users to have a dozen or more tabs, it’s increasingly difficult to tell what’s going on in the browser tab bar or find the tab you’re looking for

Oliver Reichenstein has created a mockup firefox version which looks like iTunes and you can make tags per web pages, easy to sort out by search engine, category pages and so on options.

However, it’s really interesting and common browser tab will be hopefully launch in firefox 3.5. Lets see in future.

That means, anytime you can make a video tutorials or video shots within a short a short time without installing any software or spending any extra money to buying a pro version. In the mean time, after completing your video it will move to next steps and start to uploading your video to their hosts and shortly the video will be shareable, accessible and download-able too.

PageZipper add-ons an extensive Mozilla firefox extension which brings more faster web experiences and consuming your time. How? Lots of websites using “next page” which actually using to great more page impressions. Also making money or using advertisement perfectly to using your clicks. But, when you’re on a page which has 52 slide or more — you will be tired or bored to click on “next page” one by one such as on time.com. Is not it? But PageZipper going to resolve that problems and it will load next pages automatically and save your valuable time.Load “Next Page” Automatically With PageZipper Add-ons

“PageZipper automatically loads the contents of “next page” links right underneath the current page, so you can scroll down instead of clicking through. It’s quite similar to another extension called AutoPager, and I like that it doesn’t show its page breaks the way AutoPager does. Where PageZipper hasn’t caught up with AutoPager yet is in the way it deals with tricky “next page” links. AutoPager lets you find them manually and train it, while PageZipper relies on its own (granted, very good) auto detection” says Jay Hathaway.

This is the first beta version of Chrome, having some bugs so a new version of Google Chrome is rolling out soon. Now How to update Google Chrome ?

You can easily updates the chrome from the “About Google Chrome” to check if new version is available.

Apart from apllication update google also steps into updating Chrome’s terms of service - from google’s blog

Gogle says “You’ll notice if you look at our other products that many of them are governed by Section 11 of our Universal Terms of Service. This section is included because, under copyright law, Google needs what’s called a “license” to display or transmit content. So to show a blog, we ask the user to give us a license to the blog’s content. (The same goes for any other service where users can create content.) But in all these cases, the license is limited to providing the service. In Gmail, for example, the terms specifically disclaim our ownership right to Gmail content.”

Revised text of Section 11

11. Content license from you
