Facebook is in the process of testing a new feature which lets you subscribe to all the actions of a specific user. In other words, you can receive notifications anytime a specific user takes an action on Facebook. It also appears to be Facebook’s answer to Twitter’s follow feature. As a Facebook user who has seen the feature explained to us, “By subscribing you don’t miss any updates from people you subscribe to.”

This could also serve as a new engagement opportunity for Pages if Facebook enabled users to subscribe to their activities as well. The result would be a fan count and a “subscriber” count, which is the number of people who are guaranteed to get all of your updates. For the time being it appears to just be a test, however this would definitely change the communications flow within Facebook. It’s also the ultimate stalking tool!

You can try yourself, visit Zuck’s Facebook page and locate “Report/Block this person” link and click on it. In the overlay window that pops up select “block this person”, and then click submit. You should be greeted with the “General Block failed error: Block failed” message. So what does all this mean? Well, most likely, absolutely nothing.

The majority of Facebook users obviously have no reason whatsoever to block Zuckerberg just like they might not have any reason to block many of the other Facebook users. But only reason why people could get upset over this is because the site is maybe too big for this kind of ‘pranks.’ But if you really had a reason to block Zuck, then your hard luck.

The website Block Zuck, very much described by its name, used to have step-by-step instructions on how to block Zuckerberg on his site. However, the feature does not work anymore. It’s doubtful that the move had anything to do with the site as such, but perhaps there really were too many people wanting blocking the CEO. The revamp, which will roll out as a “sneak peek” to some users today and to all users on August 16, is part of MySpace’s new effort to showcase its value. Christina Wodtke, General Manager of Social Networking at MySpace, told me that they have a lot of loyal users that have been with MySpace for a long time, but they haven’t really discovered all that MySpace has to offer. The new homepage is an attempt to show users, especially younger ones, what’s cool and interesting on the MySpace network.

The development, the deal is “all systems go” and the player is already being embedded into Facebook. It will launch within the next week to ten days. The embeddable player will allow users to view any video Five already makes available on the site and on other platforms.

The super-excellent micro-blogging platform Twitter is making lot of hires to support its advertising model. Adding up this Twitter this week announced that it is making two new hires that should prove essential to its fledgling, ad-based business model — people to sell the ads.

According to Advertising Age, Twitter has hired Dan Coughlin, the former director of media sales at Facebook for the post of director of ad sales for East. Amanda Levy, who was the first ad-sales person at well-known site Yelp, for the post of sales director in Western region. These two major hires have been made to expand Twitter’s ad offering which is called as Promoted Suite.

“We’re putting together a top-flight sales team as we begin to open our Promoted Suite of products to more companies,” said Dick Costolo, Twitter’s chief operating officer, in an emailed statement.
