01. FotoEditor

FotoEditor allows you to quickly edit your photos by applying loads of effects and filters.
All you have to select a photo from your photo album, after it you can apply loads of effect such as negative, grayscale and sepia. In addition to this, you can also adjust things like contrast, brightness, gamma correction and mirroring of the image. By using this app you can share your edited photos with all your friends on Twitter or Facebook. Crop Suey HD is a cropping tool and one of the simplest one. When you first start the app, you will see a simple three-step tutorial. All you have to touch the open image icon in top left corner of the screen, choose an image and after it use the tools available at the bottom of the screen to manipulate it.

Smartphone Research Says Windows Phone 7 Overtakes Apple iOS

A research firm called IDC has been involved in researching the competition between Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 and Apple’s iPhone. The firm has predicted that Windows Phone 7 will sell a lot more than the Apple’s iPhone by 2015. They have also predicted that Google’s Android will sell like hot cakes and that Google will enjoy almost 44% of the market share by 2015.

As Nokia adopts to the Windows Phone 7 technology, it is predicted that the market share for Windows will beat Apple to the race at a whopping 20.3% market share, as opposed to iPhones market share of 16.9%.

According to the Times of India, the report says -

Windows Phone 7 will benefit from Nokia’s support, scope, and breadth within markets where Nokia has historically had a strong presence

However, it also acknowledges that the growth will happen after Nokia introduces Windows smartphones in 2012. Needless to say, this report has turned a lot of heads with regard to the predictions. The current market share of the three competitors are Android has 38.9% of the global smartphone market, Apple has 18.2, and Windows Phone 7’s current market share is 3.8%.

Finally, the report suggests that the smartphone market will increase by 2015. It will triple from the number in 2010 of 305 million to 982 million in 2015. Additionally, that the smartphone sales in 2011 will be as high as 472 million.

Hound is a music app that searches for songs. You can look for songs using the voice-based search feature. Apples iOS 5 is the latest mobile operating system from Apple. The latest OS promises to have over 200 new features. Interesting Features of Apple iOS 5 :

Notification Center : This feature will ensure that you get all your notification in your iOS devices. This will include all kinds of notification including emails, texts, friends requests, stock ticker, current weather and so on. To use the feature:

Swipe down the top of the screen to enter Notification Center.
Choose the notifications you want updates.
New notifications will display on the top of your screen.

iMessage : This is a new messaging service between supported Apple devices. It provides unlimited text messages using Wi-Fi or 2G. It provides options to send individual messages, group messages, photos, videos, contact details and location details. It ensures the messages are secure using encryption. It gives you the option to continue the same conversations from different devices.

Newsstand : This feature will help you keep stead with all the latest information. Your newspaper and magazine subscriptions are organized by this feature to ensure that your favourity publications are easily accessible. New and updates to the list of subscribed functions are updated directly and accessible through Newsstand. Newsstand also updates latest editions as a background on your device.

Reminders : As the name suggests it reminds you of the work that you need to get done in a day. It provides you options to make to-do lists with due dates and location. Location because if you are at a supermarket then the feature reminds you of the grocery list you have in your device. This feature also works with iCal, Outlook, and iCloud. The updates are automatically updated to the different devices and calendars.

Needless to say, these are just some of the many features that are available in the latest iOS 5. Apart from all the ones listed above. The latest OS also includes a Gaming Center, Wi-Fi Sync, Multitasking Gestures for iPad, AirPlay Mirroring for iPad 2, and other such interesting features.

Reports suggest that Twitter’s photo-sharing service announcement is a huge part of the Apple feature. This means that as you have been able to share videos on YouTube, you will be able to share images to Twitter as well. This needless to say will be a big hit for Twitter users, cause they will be finally able to share pictures on Twitter. Additionally, it seems like Apple will aim to make this transition as easy as possible for its users.
