When you invest on a social media, there are two important things that you must consider: content and connection. Without these two aspects, your branding strategy will not make a dent amidst the overflow of information in modern mass media.

That is why it is very important for your company to define its content strategy. Such definition becomes more important if you want to become competitive on the web. That is because virtual social media is overflowing with content. We at mediaredefined think that if you cannot position your content ahead of others and make a difference, then your content creation can be overwhelmed by the overflow of information on the Internet.

As a first step, you need to define the purpose of your content. Is your content designed to build authority or is it created to pre-sell something. Your content can also be a tool for viral marketing or simply an information resource so you can generate lots of followers. Defining the purpose of your content is the building block of your company’s content strategy.

Second, you need to decide which form of social media to use to deliver your content to the target audience. This step involves analysis on the most effective social media on the web. For example, you can venture into video streaming which is the most popular type of social media today.

Lastly, you have to develop ways how to manage your content. Citizen of the web are always looking for fresh and updated information. You need to answer this demand so that your content will be relevant to many people.

Moreover, have a look over the presentation of “alchemy content” on Content Strategies.

Techies or technology geeks share one thing in common. They usually need reliable online tools and apps in order to boost their productivity and make their work easier. If techies have the right recipe of tools and utilities, then their success is fairly guaranteed.

So here are some of the simplest but probably the best technology recipes that every techie should own.

First, every techie should have a ready mix of archive tools (like 7 zip), extractor and computer auditing utilities. Techies work with large files especially when transmitting or receiving development applications. That is why archive and extractor tools are relevant to their work. Auditing utilities on the other hand, will help techies to analyze computer systems, hardware, and software implementations. Here are more than 400 freeware utilities.

Second, techies need desktop optimization tools such as burners (like infrared recorder), readers, and document viewers (Primo Pdf is also used as best alternatives). These utilities can be used so that techies can make their work portable.

A third obvious recipe for making the work of techies simpler is Internet utilities. These include FTP utilities ( like smart ftp, fire ftp , cute ftp ) portable browsers ( firefox, opera, internet explorer, chrome) for diagnosing sites, and TelNet and SSH clients. (like Putty). Moreover browsershots can be used as the best alternative for checking browsers compatibility.

Of course, techies need to face malicious wares and viruses so they need a technology recipe for resolving these issues. So they need a ready mix of malware removal tool, root kit scanner ( like Sophos Anti-Rootkit ), Trojan detectors, and systems and disk cleaners (like Nonags ,CCleaner).

Lastly, techies will need networking and troubleshooting tools. So they should have port scanner, IP configuration tools, and router optimizer. They should also have restore tools in their technology recipe bags in order to troubleshoot problematic computer systems.

I’ll wait for more recommendation of utilities in comments. Moreover if you have any queries or problem the feel free to ask in help center.

Are your really serious about your world, your country? your generations? Are you serious about this Earth?
Earth Hour Day is the name of serious cause to awake the uncoiled souls who don’t ever bother to think beyond them self.Do you know why people are shouting to “turn off the lights for a good cause”?

Be part of this historic event. Join the motion on official Earth Hour website and try to feel what they say as

World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour – Earth Hour – to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.

Few ideas for celebrating the Earth Hour Day:

Candle light dinner.

Gifting candles to your neighbors.

Switch off your lights and play “Hide & Seek”

If you wants, use laptops in power backup mode.

Switch off the vehicle engine on signals.(i don’t suggest to drive in night without turning on the head lights – otherwise energy will be saved and you will be lost)

Tree plantation

Think upon renewable resources of the energy.

Try to avoid the use of electronics appliances.

Avoid smoking (at least for few hours)

At least inspire your one friend to do so.

Practice Meditation in dark.

Switch off your fans/AC and make sex with your partner in sweat during earth hour day.

We would like to know how you are celebrating this day.Do you have any other innovative ideas? Feel free to share here.

This is almost a dead giveaway. The good things about why you should join a startup company far exceed the reasons why you should not. Whether you are a fresh graduate or you are simply tired and worn out working your way up the venerated corporate ladder and you feel like “working for the man” is not right anymore, now is the best time to shift places and make that intelligent leap.

Work for a startup company. Here is why it is great.

More Say, More Who Listen. Because a startup company usually is in the process of learning the ropes of a business, then every opinion or suggestion is heard and taken to heart. The company’s number of employees is typically small, too, so each person in a startup carries more weight in business decisions. You do not have that mousy existence in the board anymore. Finally, you have an audible voice. Who wants to pass up a job like that?

More Sense of Ownership. True, you are not the person who is financing it, or founded it, but you are as close as you can ever be, again because of the number of people in a startup. Usually, employees in a startup have some stock options or equity which gives you a sense of ownership. You are not merely a cog in a startup company. You are a real, live person!

More Thrust and Meaning. As with a lot of companies, a startup begins with a strong sense of purpose and a clear and straightforward vision, something that you have been missing in your big company. This is a company whose mission and vision resonates in every hallway and document passed among the employees. You feel more encouraged and energized now that you see the true meaning of the job you are doing.

More Togetherness and Teamwork. Startup companies usually have a small knit group, like a mini-family. These are personalities who understand that they all have to work together to succeed.

More Diverse Co-Workers and Assignments. In startups, you will be able to meet new people and expand your horizons. Because of the limited hands able to work, you will be given new things to work on and discover different things. You will grow in your workplace.

You will Lean More. Startups are jumpstarting on everything, and you are at the very edge of learning new things and new lessons about the business and how it thrives. You will probably learn more management skills in a startup that in school.

Less Politics, More Friendships and Healthy Competition. You can forget those sneaky people who are working at nothing but burying the hatchet of frustration in your back. There is practically no politics and everyone is usually closer to each other. Think of it this way: in a normal family setting, sibling rivalry is present only if there are too many children vying for attention, but this is not present in smaller families. The same goes for big and startup companies.

More Intensity. When working at a startup, you will get the intensity and the vibe that you miss is a normal day job.

A bright future. With the environment and the kind of people startups have, the future of the company and your future are sure to be great. Just remember to keep your statistics up

Fun. Startups are always more fun than the normal work environments. That is simply the nature of the business.

Of course you still need to calculate the risks that you are taking. But in startups, the demand is high and the avenues for opportunity are abundant. Just remember to research the company you are about to join before making the big leap.

Note:Above are the few factors due to which i have a startup named mediaredefined.Do you know, after completing my graduation i don’t ever apply for any jobs and my friends compel me that its a fallaciously doing by refusing the jobs. But now in the time of recession when no one have security in their jobs, i’m beneficial on my decisions.

Waiting to hear your reviews on these points.

The ever increasing number of social networking websites, and the competition hence has resulted in Facebook bringing out changes in its looks and interface. From a developer’s perspective, Facebook has incorporated these changes in its Application Programming Interface (API). There are a series of new API calls and FBML tags (including API calls, profile integration points, and session keys). The chat applet was well integrated as an application months before the official launch.

These changes have been made in order to make Facebook more user friendly by allowing the users to change settings of almost everything! There are new ways of user-to-user communication in which they can share their content with their peers: application tabs enable users to share unique content from their favorite deep applications, and profile boxes enable users to express themselves in smaller forms than tabs. Application info sections enable users to share structured content from applications on the Info tab. The wall attachment is significantly upgraded by Publisher integration which enables users to easily post content of any type on their as well as their friends’ profiles.

The new Facebook Interface

Some important changes that have been made in Facebook’s Home Page is the addition of a new toolbar which has different tabs for the functionalities of Mini Feed , Top Stories , Status Updates , Photos and posted items from all other users as well. The whole column which previously comprised the added application is shifted from left panel to the right. The “Request and Notification column” are also added. There are also some minute changes like search box placed in the header, a box placed just below the header for allowing the users to update their current status. The status update column has been removed.

There are no profile action links for third party applications. Instead, users interact with their friends using applications in the Publisher box.

FACEBOOK CONNECT

Facebook now enables you to integrate the Facebook Platform with your own website through Facebook Connect. It allows the users of your website to connect their Facebook account and information to your website, find their Facebook friends who also use your site and share information, and actions on your site with their friends on Facebook. Facebook Connect brings the power and flexibility of Facebook Platform, including the REST API and FQL(Facebook Query Language), onto your site, as well as offers new technologies like XFBML and Friend Linking.

FACEBOOK TRANSLATION APPLICATION

Facebook has launched a Translations application which allows translators from all over the world to translate Facebook into different languages. The primary goal is to make Facebook available to everyone in different languages. The translation process consists of two steps: submitting translations and voting for translations. You have to add the Translations Application to translate, review, and vote on translations in your language. Once the translations for your language are complete and their quality has been verified by the community, your language content will be launched for all Facebook users.

Today when i visited the amit agarwal (labnol) i get encountered with a video stating the horrific conditions under which some bloggers works. This video shows how a group of bloggers used to exploited and compelled to work on and on.
This video is released by barelypolitical.
My Comment on Labnol’s Blog

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

i really don’t believe on the video but yes this is quite obvious to happen.
Some one hires group of bloggers and their work is to post 10-20 quality articles daily. How come this is possible it will definitely sucks our day and night.
I event tried this for the months of jan 2008 i work more than 19hrs daily this is reasons why i get more than $1500 out of my blog. But after that i don’t have enough courage to do that amount of work again. It completely kills me if i try to do this again.
Anyway this is quite good video
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I personally wants to shout that if you are anyone you know is exploiting like this then please let us known with that.I think most of us blogger tries to help them out.
What is your opinion regards?
