Today, Google is a huge company with several dozen outstanding products, yet it always strives hard for better future plans. Past year – 2009 has been exciting for the giant with couple of interesting release such as Google wave, preview of Google voice, introduced Chrome OS and Google Public DNS to name a few. So what does Google has in mind for 2010? Of course one interesting release waiting is the Google Phone – Nexus one, but then there is lot more to come from the entire team that can make our lives easy and exhilarating. Here is the Top 5 product that Google may plans to launch in 2010.

1. Google Phone – Nexus One -

By now you already know that Nexus One is the upcoming Google Phone and the great news is that it would be debuted anytime now in the Android Press Meeting. Nexus One is expected to display the latest generation of Linux-based open source Android operating system. In fact, this is also first phone that will be marketed directly by Google, in turn setting up extremely higher expectations for the product. Engadget has already reviewed the phone before the launch and it beings some interesting set of information you might link to know. The phone is also said to bring tough competition for Apple iPhone.

2. Google’s Caffeine Search Engine -

Caffeine is the next version of Google’s search-engine infrastructure and will soon be available to the wider audience. Caffeine engine is expected to offer technology to deliver faster and more accurate results. This version was available for test and there is no specific date for launch given yet, but Google is sure to develop it fully in early 2010. The reason for not releasing it in 2009 was thoroughly explained by Matt cuts. As soon as the search engine release the first threat will directly be on Microsoft’s Bing.

3. Google’s Ebook Store -

Google has always been fond of books and have encouraged it reader to take part often. With that love Google now plans to launch an online store for ebooks, which is expected to come in the first half of 2010. Google Ebook store will have half a million books initially in partner will few publishers. On the launch it is expected to have more than 500,000 books ready to be purchased from online stores such as Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com. This interesting ebook store will be a strong completion to Amazon’s Kindle, which is today the most popular ereader.

4. Google Chrome OS -

Google Chrome Brower was a great hit and recently it also moved ahead of Apple Safari. And next in store we have Google Chrome OS – an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted only at netbooks. Google has planned to open-source its code, and will make Google Chrome OS available to users in the second half of 2010. According the giant, speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. This OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems.

5. Google Drive – GDrive

Users usually have complained of not having enough space for them to store emails, photos, and files. With that in mind, Google came up the idea of Gdrive included in Google pack – online file backup and storage service from Google that integrated with Google services like Gmail, Picasa Web Albums, Google Calendars, and many others. GDrive allows you to access your files from anywhere, anytime, and from any device – be it from your desktop, web browser or cellular phone. Google Drive is highly anticipated and expected to be released in 2010 but it will only be an extended version of Google Docs. Instead of sending attachments, you’ll be able to upload files to Google Drive from Gmail.

Also check out other interesting predictions for Google in 2010 listed out by Google Operating System, which is fun to check out. Although there would be more products coming up this year by Google, these 5 are certain to take place. If you predict more launches from Google, then feel free to share with us via comment

In this tutorial we discuss about the easiest method to jailbreak your iPhone into latest 2.2.1 firmware release by the apple.QuickPwn 2.2.5 is the tools that helps in upgrading, jail breaking, and unlocking your Apple iPhone to run a free flow new firmware.Note:All the downloadable files are available at the end of the post.

Follow the procedure:

Start your iTunes and connect your iPhone into it.The it will ask to upgrade your iPhone for firmware to 2.2.1.

Freely upgrade your iPhone from iTunes.(Even if you are using previous jailbreak firmware upgrade it as it will be unlocked later by QuickPwn).QuickPwn changes the firmware settings and doesn’t actually upgrade your iPhone so this process is quit necessary.

The open source community had become a big community in the Internet. These are people who advocate free software and charges only for IT consultations. But you can still earn from using these free software. Here are 10 ways to earn from open source software.

There are companies who favor open source software over commercial ones. A major reason for this is the price of the license.

Open source software developer will be a good source of income.

There are companies who currently use open source for their business. These companies will need people who can maintain and even update their software.

Companies may also need custom made software to meet their business needs. And they often go for open source software. And this will be another opportunity for the open source community to earn money.

Smart phones are growing in popularity these days. Needs for mobile applications are also growing because of this. Mobile application development using open source software is another way to earn good money.

Many companies choose open source Customer Relationship Management or CRM for their websites because it is free. For example sugar crm.

You can create your own open source CRM and offer technical support for a fee.

Online games and PC games are so popular today. You can create games like these using open source software. And selling these games will definitely give you a good income.

You can also publish a social networking website using open source software. Social networking sites open many opportunities to earn money.for example you can use buddypress and bb forums integrations to develop a scaling social application.

If you are someone who has good knowledge about open source software you can put up a blog and put some advertisements in the blog to monetize it.

These are just 10 ways to earn from open source software but if you visit some of the community in the web you can definitely find more ways.

Apart from all the features the best thing that i liked is its scenic and eye catchy GNOME Desktop look which also loads with the following features

A new instant messaging client.

improved file management and toolbars

A built-in time tracker.

A better support for multiple monitor use with the ability to set screen resolution by monitor.

Some of the New Features in Ubuntu 8.10

Gear up for New 3G Support

For constant connectivity public WiFi has limitations. Improvements to the network manager in Ubuntu 8.10 makes it simple to detect and connect to 3G networks and manage connectivity. This connectivity is delivered through an inbuilt 3G modem, through ‘dongle’ support, through a mobile phone or through Bluetooth. It is a complex environment that Ubuntu 8.10 simplifies through a single interface and the auto-detection of many of the most popular devices.

Write Ubuntu to and Install from a USB Drive

In my previous post How to run Linux directly from Windows i post about how to install / Run linux from USB Drive but here in new version of Ubuntu this feature has been made available to users with full portability.A simple application in Ubuntu will allow users to write Ubuntu to a USB drive, even a modified version of Ubuntu with their data on it, so it can be carried everywhere to plug in and use on any machine.

Loads with Guest Sessions just like Windows

Their is a default “Guest” login in the Windows Operating Systems and Yes now Ubuntu reloads with Guest logins from all your friends who might use your personal system.Do you know? Guest sessions allow users to lock down a session easily so a guest can use the full system without interference with programs or data. Now you can easily shares the system even with your girlfriends without bothering about the fears of catching your private data.

BBC Channels are loaded in default

Now you can enjoy the freedom of technology in the form of free and updated BBC podcasts.Yes, Ubuntu media players “Totem Movie Player and Rhythmbox” have a menu of selected content from the broadcaster that is free and fresh like air. It have a different sorts of video, radio and podcasts and available in high quality, much of it playable using non-proprietary codecs. Note: It have constantly updated contents via the corporation’s stream and will vary dependent on location.

Eye Candy Gnome 2.24 Desktop Environment

Ubuntu 8.10 reloads with eye candy features of the GNOME desktop environment . As described above new features include a new instant messaging client, a built-in time tracker, , improved file management and toolbars plus better support for multiple monitor use with the ability to set screen resolution by monitor.

Recently while using Ubuntu Studio i feels the need of Adobe Air and other applications so i tried to installed Air for my Linux box. Here is the simple process to install it on Linux (test ed on Ubuntu Studio 8.04)

Download the Adobe air from here ( http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/air/linux/adobeair_linux_b1_091508.bin)

Save the file in the Home ( file name will be adobeair_linux_b1_091508.bin )

Go to the start and open a terminal ( Applications–> Accessories –> Terminal)

Now from Terminal Window go to the director where we saved Adobe AIR installer (/home/):cd /home/

From terminal run

ls -l

Normally the downloaded files are not have enough privilege so we will make it compatible for installing, for this we will increase its permission level by

chmod 755 filename

or

chmod 755 adobeair_linux_b1_091508.bin

Now Adobe Air is ready for installation, use this command to proceed further
./filename
or

./adobeair_linux_b1_091508.bin

Now you can easily install AdobeAIR

You can easily install ADOBEAIR applications on your LINUX BOX.

Note: If you want to uninstall an AIR application, open a terminal again (Applications > Accessories > Terminal).

In this example I will show how to uninstall Spaz.

To find out the correct name of the Spaz package, run

dpkg --list | grep -i spaz

for example output as

honeytech@honeytech:~$ dpkg --list | grep -i webkut
ii net.tw.air.webkut.7c34f9ba9fad6689faabbe85f1f5b46ba5a32de5.1 1.2.1
honeytech@honeytech:~$

Hence the package we have to remove is
net.tw.air.webkut.7c34f9ba9fad6689faabbe85f1f5b46ba5a32de5.1 1.2.1

Note: If you face any problems in the above installation then feel free to bother me via comments. Comments are open for you.
