Do you ever install a linux in window like an application ?
The installation of Ubuntu is a major barrier to its spread and use. This project aims to solve this problem by allowing installation from within Windows using an install.exe file, and eliminating the need to partition the hard drive or burn a CD to install. It will allow a faster and more user-friendly installation for Windows users, the ability to install without the risk of data loss through repartitioning, and the ability to install on ultra-portable laptops without CD drives
Safe
It does not require you to modify the partitions of your PC, or to use a different bootloader.
Simple
Just run the installer, no need to burn a CD.
Discrete
Wubi keeps most of the files in one folder, and If you do not like, you can simply uninstall it.
Free
(like Ubuntu) is free as in beer and as in freedom. You will get this part later on, the important thing now is that it cost absolutely nothing, it is our gift to you.
“plz shair you views n problems about this linux install in windows…
feel free to bother me anytime “

Hi honey! its been long since i posted a comment on to ur weblog but it doesn’t mean i was away! Anyways, i use ubuntu ver 6.
Two things I would like to know are:
1) how to mount local drives that are used by windows media centre ed. ( both automatically with the boot and otherwise).
2) How to connect to BSNL’s broadband using adsl router. I tried hard but then i couldn’t find any options to create a pppoE connection over there. though my ethernet card is detected as ” eth0″ and the router config page opens at 192.168.1.1.
Lastly, what is this .exe file u have written about, just above? will it not need the complete setup of 700 Mb around? I mean itsj ust for 9 Mb and the whole of Ubuntu is more than 600 Mb. So will it download other files across net ? won’t it be a heavy download then ?
