Introduction To OpenMoko

Deepank Gupta a Engineering student from NSIT presented a talk
on Openmoko and showcased many interesting features of Neo1973 Phone..
He is also a Soc participant working on openmoko .This month “Deepank Gupta” gave a presentation on Openmoko (open source mobile os) in ILUG-D meet.He is doing a project on openmoko under his google summer project.Here i share his presentation.

Nalin says“he reformatted a Windows mobile phone– and put
linux on it– what’s more, he even re-formatted the MicroSD card– and put
ext2fs on it”

He shows a live demos of Calculator, A Command Line Interface to Interface with Dialer Dameon,
He Showed how easy is to access your memory card and share the data
between PC and Phone.

Results After His Presentation

  • Discussion of Porting Java on Openmoko Debating negative and positive
    effects for that, For which Nalin Savara Volunteered :)
  • ILUGD invite developers / Students to join deepank and work for
    openmoko. ILUGD say he may provide assistance to concrete groups or plans
